5 killed in roadside bomb blast in NW Pakistan

Islamabad [Pakistan], September 14: A blast hit a vehicle in the Swat district of Pakistan's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Tuesday evening, leaving five people dead, police said.
District Police Office of Swat Zahid Nawaz Marwat said in a statement that unknown miscreants attacked the vehicle of a member of the District Peace Committee, Idris Khan, in the Bara Bandai area of the district.
The official added that all five people on board, including Khan and his four security guards, lost their lives in the attack.
The bomb was planted on the roadside and detonated with a remote-controlled device, said the police officer.
According to the police officer, the slain guards included two policemen and two private gunmen.
Police and security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.
No group or individual has claimed for the attack yet.
